On Tuesday 17 December, 2024, our minister, Rev Dr Elijah Obinna, turned 50.

Over 100 family members and friends gathered in St John's large hall in secret.  When Elijah was brought in, he was taken by surprise when everyone present shouted "Happy Birthday Elijah!".  Arrangements for the party had been made over the past months without him knowing.

A collection had been taken up over the last few weeks from the congregation for a present.  When asked, Elijah had expressed the preference for a donation to charities in his name would be a suitable gift.  Such was the generosity of the congregation that the a cheque for £950 was presented to Elijah who will use these funds to make donations to Educaton Nigeria and Clydesdale Food Bank.
